PCB Designing

PCB Designing is a workshop which focuses on the designing and manufacturing of a printed circuit board. It would deal with basic concepts which will be helpful in designing. Motive of the workshop is to make students familiar with different electronic components used, circuit designing using software tools, PCB fabrication,etc.

Introduction to “TechieNest”

Introduction to circuit designing,  software and tools.

  • Significance of Schematics and Layouts
  • Getting Started with Electronics
  • Basics of Electronics
  • Basic Electronic Components
  • Resistors, Capacitors, LEDs, LDR, Diode, Transistors Transformer, Rectifier, Relays, Op-Amps, Voltage Regulators etc.

Installation of Software

Introduction to two or more layer PCB layouts.

Understanding tracking concept of two layer PCB layout.

Practical 1: Dual mode Infrared sensor schematic designing on the designing software.

  • Creating clipboard of schematic for layout.

Practical 2: Layout designing of the dual mode Infrared sensor using standard tools of the designing software.

  • Creating Digital Library for the components used in the Circuit.

Project 1: Gerber file generation for Dual mode Infrared Sensor.

Query Solving session.

Major Project Development

  • Major Project: Atmega 8 Development Board designing.
  • Understanding PIN description and working concept of Atmega8.
  • Concept of 5v DC power supply.

Practical 3: 5 V power supply design.

Practical 4: Atmega 8 Circuit design with input output pins.

Creating clipboard of schematic for Layout.

Practical 5: Atmega 8 development board designing.

Introduction to printing process

Placing of circuit on copper clad
Practical 6: Printing Circuit diagram on the Copper Board using heating mechanism.

Etching

  • Need of FeCl3 solution for PCB designing

Practical 7: PCB Etching in FeCl3 solution.

Drilling

Practical 8: Drilling development board PCB.

  • Need to take care for components mounting and soldering on the PCB

Practical 9: Soldering components on the PCB.

  • Testing of the Circuit

Practical 10: Testing and troubleshooting Development board hardware.
Practical 11: Programming of Development board for LED’s.

PROJECT Display: Demonstrating Project and list out the projects based on the implemented Technology.
